This private walk is a perfect choice for a group of friends or a family, visiting Oslo for the first time.

Our guide will meet you near the Tiger statue, in front of the Østbanehallen Oslo S (GPS: 59.911114, 10.750338) at a square near the Central Railway Station, where the guide will discuss the remarkable transformation of this neighborhood in recent decades. From here, you can see the iconic Oslo Opera House, one of the city’s most beloved landmarks. After the tour, you can explore the Opera House’s stunning interior or climb its rooftop for spectacular views.

From the Østbanehallen square, we will proceed to Karl Johans gate (street), Oslo’s main boulevard, and the majestic Royal Palace, built for the street’s namesake, King Karl Johan. The guide will recount the complex history between the city and the king, including why he never had the chance to reside in this splendid palace.

As we stroll along Karl Johans gate, other iconic landmarks of Oslo will catch our attention, including Oslo University, the National Theatre, the Parliament Building, and the 17th-century Oslo Cathedral. This lively street is filled with cafés, bars, jazz clubs, boutiques, and shops, offering a taste of the city’s relaxed yet distinct atmosphere.

The tour will conclude at the Swan Fountain near the Oslo City Hall, a monumental red-brick building where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded. Here, the guide will share fascinating stories about the dramatic history of this landmark and its significance in Norwegian culture and history.
